APSO ARREST FOUR FOLLOWING DEATH INVESTIGATION OF PRAIRIEVILLE MAN – 2/5/2018 4:24 PM

On Sunday, February 4, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to Brown Road in reference to a body being found in a yard.

According to Chief Deputy Bobby Webre, detectives responded to the scene shortly after 1 p.m. and identified the victim as 48-year-old Brian Long of Prairieville.

As the investigation continued it was learned that the victim was lured to the residence of Joseph Oncale and Fallon Gautreau to rob him. Also present at the residence was Jason Giles and Mark Forbes. Once the victim arrived at the residence, Giles and Oncale struck the victim in the back while Forbes stood by armed with a handgun.

The victim fled the residence on foot and was chased by the three men onto Brown Road where deputies located the victim’s body shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

All suspects were located and arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.

Jason Giles, 35, of 38174 Smith Road, Prairieville, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and attempted armed robbery. Giles has a criminal history with over 14 arrests with charges stemming from aggravated battery, vehicle burglary, theft, and domestic abuse battery.

Joseph Oncale, 38, of 38133 Stanley Road, Prairieville, was arrested and charged with firstdegree murder and attempted armed robbery. Oncale has been arrested five times with charges stemming from drug charges.

Mark Forbes, 35, of 18363 Craig Street, Prairieville, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery, and attempted armed robbery with a firearm. Forbes has been arrested twice for traffic violations and theft of a firearm.

Fallon Gautreau, 28, of 38133 Stanley Street, Prairieville, was arrested and charged with firstdegree murder and attempted armed robbery. Gautreau has been arrested nine times with charges stemming from theft, drugs, and child desertion.

No bond has been set yet.
