The Juvenile Family Services Division has several special projects that were developed for the prevention of crimes in Ascension Parish. They include:

 

Internet Safety: The Internet has become a valuable recource for many families in the past 5 years. However, it also has become a hunting ground for child predetors. To speak to a Juvenile officer regarding tips for protecting children and their Internet ussae, contact Detective Mike Songy at 225-621-8396.

 

 

Sex Offender / Watch Program: To obtain information regarding Sex Offenders within Ascension Parish go to SEX OFFENDER or call the Sex Offender Watch Program at 225-621-8329.

 

 

Safe Haven Program: If you are someone you know is not ready to take on the responsibility of a newborn baby that is less than 31 days old, Louisiana's Safe Haven Law offers parents a safe and legal option to abandoning a child. For more information contact Louisiana Safe Haven.
