Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeffrey Wiley is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an individual responsible for an armed robbery in Prairieville.
On June 16, 2009 a female identifying herself as a “Jasmine” notified the victim (whom sells jewelry from her home) via telephone wanting to meet with her in order to view some jewelry she was interested in purchasing.
Mid-day on June 16 the victim, with her four and seven year old children, met “Jasmine” at a bank on Highway 42. Jasmine, driving a newer model white two door Hyundai Tiburon with tinted rear window, had the victim follow her to a home on Oak Harbor Road off of Highway 42 for Jasmines sister to view the jewelry.
Once at the home “Jasmine” led the victim up the steps of the home where a Hispanic male, armed with a handgun, pulled the victim into the home and robbed her of her cell phone and carrying bag of jewelry which was valued at $20,000. A second Hispanic male then escorted the two children into the home.
The victim and her two children were placed in the bathroom and told to wait a time before coming out. The victim was told that if she did not follow their directions she would be killed.
The location of the robbery was a rental home where the tenant had recently moved out. Investigators learned the former tenant had an acquaintance named “Miguel” that visited the rental home on occasions. “Miguel” is and Hispanic male that drives a white two door Hyundai Tiburon.

A John Doe warrant has been obtained on “Miguel” (also possibly goes by “Oso”) until a positive identification is made. He is wanted for armed robbery, armed robbery with use of a firearm, and false imprisonment.
Investigators are still searching for the true identity of “Jasmine” and the second Hispanic male.
