Win Dixie Armed Robbery
The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a local supermarket robbery suspect.
According to Chief Deputy Tony Bacala, on May 14, 2008 at midnight, just before closing time, an unidentified lone gunman entered the Prairieville Winn Dixie on Airline Highway and demanded an employee give him money. The gunman fled the scene, on foot, with over $300 cash.
The gunman is described as being clean shaven, mid-twenties, blonde hair, fair complexion, thin build, 5’9"-5’10", 160lbs, wearing dark colored shorts with sleeveless white under shirt, white tennis shoes, and baseball cap. He possibly has a tattoo on his upper left shoulder/ bicep area. It also appears the suspects left ear lobe was torn at the bottom where it appeared an earring was possibly ripped out, but has since healed. The weapon is described as a black revolver.
The Sheriff’s police sketch artist was successful in building a composite of the armed robbery suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at 225-621-INFO (4636) or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-STOP (7867)
